Course Overview
This comprehensive cardiac life support course provides healthcare professionals with essential knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to cardiovascular emergencies across all age groups. The course integrates Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training to ensure participants can provide high-quality care in critical situations. - Basic Life Support (BLS) Objectives
- Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate proper chest compression technique with appropriate rate, depth, and recoil for adults, children, and infants
- Perform effective rescue breathing using appropriate ventilation techniques and devices
- Operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively in various scenarios
- Execute relief of choking procedures for conscious and unconscious victims across all age groups
- Apply the Chain of Survival concept to improve outcomes in cardiac arrest situations
- Communicate effectively as part of a resuscitation team using clear, directed communication
- Recognize signs of cardiac arrest and initiate immediate appropriate interventions

- Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:
- Apply the ACLS systematic approach to assess and manage cardiovascular emergencies
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and determine appropriate treatment protocols
- Implement cardiac arrest algorithms including VF/pVT, PEA, and asystole management
- Administer ACLS medications with proper dosing, timing, and monitoring for adverse effects
- Perform advanced airway management including endotracheal intubation and supraglottic airways
- Utilize electrical therapy including defibrillation, cardioversion, and pacing appropriately
- Recognize and manage acute coronary syndromes using evidence-based treatment protocols
- Identify stroke symptoms and implement appropriate emergency interventions
- Provide post-cardiac arrest care including therapeutic hypothermia and hemodynamic support
- Lead and participate effectively in resuscitation teams with clear role definition

- Perform pediatric cardiac arrest management using age-appropriate algorithms and techniques
- Interpret pediatric cardiac rhythms and provide appropriate electrical and pharmacological therapy
- Establish vascular access in pediatric patients using various techniques and devices
- Calculate weight-based medication dosages accurately for pediatric emergency medications
- Demonstrate effective bag-mask ventilation and advanced airway management in children
- Apply family-centered care principles during pediatric resuscitation efforts
